Where are you going to live?

Since Dan and I announced our engagement almost a month ago we have been asked on several occasions, "where will you two live after you are married?"  Over the years we have both developed strong connections and friends in the areas where we are currently serving. No one enjoys the prospects of change, transition, and good-byes when it involves people you work with and love. This makes the decision even more difficult.

This morning my eyes were open anew to Isaiah 61:1.

"The Spirit of the LORD has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners ..."

I was reminded of the anointing all believers have to live in holy, set apart, service to the LORD. When Dan and I began corresponding early in our relationship it was evident that we both desired to take the Gospel and hope to the poor and those who have not yet heard. You can ask either one of us and we would say that aspiration was what attracted us to each other as friends. It is only natural that we seek to live out that purpose in our marriage. Today as you are reading the note, please join Dan and I in prayer as we seek the geographic location of where we are to live out the words of Isaiah. Then, our encouragement for you is to reflect on where the LORD has placed you to proclaim His freedom.

Hmmm...I just want to be selfish! A great backdrop for you to live out Isaiah 61:1 is Pike's Peak! :)

We love that you all are dedicated to following God's will.
